We purchased a Goliath cart at the show, and my estimators love it! It is a perfect match for the job they have and the shop environment. Having their office on wheels at their finger tips saves time and definitely speeds up production.
I can’t express enough how much we like using this cart. It is so handy to have especially when we have teardowns in a couple of different stalls. We also like the option of rolling it out into the parking lot to write those obvious total losses. We are really liking the dual screen feature as well. Being able to look up information on the web and also having your estimate open at the same time is awesome.
The Goliath Cart is to an estimator like a tool box is to a technician. It capitalizes on mobile estimating. Our body shop is pretty big in size and walking back and forth from the vehicle to your desk computer, not only wastes time, but also leaves room for errors in our estimates. The most beneficial part, to me, is simply the ability of having everything you need at your fingertips while you are in front of the vehicle. I am able to write estimates, utilize our shop’s management system, scan, upload photos, print anything I need, and communicate with fellow staff members, communicate with outside contacts, and it is equipped with compartments that enable organization. I can state that having the Goliath in the shop saves tons of time, for both the estimator and the technicians. I would definitely recommend the Goliath to any shop that is interested in maximizing time and production. I am so spoiled with the Cart, that it takes me a minute to adjust when I actually have to use a clipboard and pen.
I have seen the Goliath Carts at NACE and watched them being used in several shops. This is a top notch product that fills the need in the collision industry as a blueprinting tool. The cart has everything you need in one place including some things you did not know you needed, this is a well thought out unit.
We have actually revamped our repair process around the G1 cart and have an employee doing all of his work from the cart, handling all of our supplements at the vehicle to decrease our cycle time while increasing accuracy of the supplement. The cart has streamlined our process and allows our service advisors to be more productive in bringing in new business. I would only recommend the G1 cart to someone who is looking to improve their business model while decreasing cycle time and increasing customer satisfaction!
The G1 cart has managed to meet and exceed all of my expectations. Visually, the cart has great aesthetics; it looks like it belongs in a NASCAR shop. To have that much information available , from disassembly instructions to air bag procedures , times to dismantle to capturing images… all there at our fingertips… at the job in front of us , has been nothing short of the “wow factor” . I believe what is most exciting is that we are not even close to using the cart to its potential . It has indeed changed the way we do things here at Parr Autobody . One of those pieces of equipment that leaves you saying .. ” how did we ever do it before we had it ? ” .
We started using the Goliath cart in March 2011 and immediately saw the benefits. The first thing was estimate accuracy. By writing an estimate next to the vehicle with a technician while a complete disassembly is being performed, it eliminates 99% of supplements. When the sheet is complete and accurate, it sets the tone for the whole repair process. Parts are ordered on the spot, the customer and insurance company are given realistic target completion dates and a thorough work order is printed at the vehicle and given to the tech.The most noticeable benefit with consistent estimate accuracy is the ease of scheduling and workflow. Cycle times have been reduced because repairs are started with an accurate repair plan which has a direct effect on higher CSI scores.
Another perk with the Goliath in the shop is our technicians have access to all the manufacturer websites for repair information within a few steps of their stalls. It eliminates their time wasted asking a manager to look up the same web site and also the time the manager can be focused on something else.
